I'm Elisa, a postdoctoral research fellow in Astrophysics at the University of Milano Bicocca, working in the B Massive (Astrophysics) Group within the Physics Department.
My research focuses on the physics of galactic nuclei, where my favourite astrophysical objects, massive black holes, reside. I spend most of my time modelling the dynamics of stars and gas about single or binary massive black holes through numerical simulations and theoretical studies. I am especially interested in the study of massive black hole binaries, stellar tidal disruption events, extreme-mass-ratio inspirals. In the bigger picture, my research aims at making predictions for future gravitational wave detectors (LISA, Einstein Telescope) and electromagnetic transient surveys (as LSST-Vera Rubin).
